I have never considered the idea of redesign to save on ink. I think it is a pretty genius idea. In some cases it also makes the logo more modern and better looking while keeping the instant recognition. It is even good from a market standpoint you could advertise to everyone how good your company is and how you love helping which just plainly sells more.
